A self-proclaimed "Man of Visions," Reverend Howard Finster was one of America's most widely known and prolific self-taught artists, producing over 46,000 art objects before his death in 2001. Finster's charisma and religious fervor gave rise to a remarkably unconvential and fascinating artistic career. Stranger in Paradise allows us to explore Finster's visions and religious beliefs as well as the influence of history and popular culture on the artist's psyche.
