Beiser adds Akron to the worldwide list of places where she’s captivated audiences with her virtuosic quest to redefine her instrument’s boundaries. A featured performer at the Sydney Opera House, New York City's Lincoln Center and the World Expo in Nagoya, Japan, Maya has spent the last decade creating new repertoire for the cello, commissioning and performing many works written for her by composers like Brian Eno, Philip Glass and Steve Reich. Tickets are $20 for members, $25 for non-members and $15 for students with valid ID (plus convenience fee). All ticket sales are final. Free hors d’ouevres and cash bar will be available.
